Advent: Peace
As we get ready for Christmas, we remember and meditate on all that the Lord God did before Jesus came into this world. This week we are specifically focusing on the Peace of God. We want to use this time to pray for God to prepare Azerbaijanis to experience the Peace that surpasses all understanding in Christ Jesus.
Isaiah 9:2-6
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder. For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor. Every warrior’s boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The church everywhere in Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had a time of peace and became stronger. Respecting the Lord by the way they lived, and being encouraged by the Holy Spirit, the group of believers continued to grow.

Let's Pray
• Pray for seasons of peace, sustained fruitfulness, and encouragement as disciples and churches continue to work to reach every unreached people and place.
• Father, thank you for giving the Son to the Azerbaijani people to shatter the yoke that burdens them and lift the rod of their oppressor. Would you draw them to your perfect Son, who was given for their salvation and freedom, since no one comes to Him unless the Father draws them.
• Jesus, we acknowledge that you are Peace itself, you are the Prince of Peace. You are the Light that has dawned on those living in darkness. Would multitudes in this nation experience the true peace that only comes from life in You.
• Holy Spirit, let this nation rejoice before their true and living God as people rejoice at the harvest. Increase their joy, hope, peace and righteousness. Reveal to them the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace– give them revelation of His first coming and anticipation of His second coming.
