"He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross."
The Turkish Speaking Kurds have many similarities with the Kurmanji Kurds in Türkiye. Sometimes Kurmanji (also known as Northern) Kurdish parents choose not to teach their language to their children. Previously, it was a crime to speak Kurdish in public. The Kurdish peoples make up the largest ethnic group in the world without a country of their own. They trace their roots to the Medes of ancient Persia. The Magi, or wise men, who traveled from the East to deliver their gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the newborn Jesus in Bethlehem were most likely Zoroastrian priests, ancestors of the modern Kurds.
Jesus, just like the Magi had eyes to see the signs of your birth, give the Turkish speaking Kurds today eyes to see that you came and that you are the king! Enable your current and future disciples to receive their primary sense of identity from you. Give them great joy that their citizenship is in heaven and that they are a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. Send more than enough laborers to them who will follow Christ's example by humbling themselves and picking up their crosses daily. I pray for this imitation of you to become part of the DNA of your church among Turkish speaking Kurds. May all new disciples and churches also learn to die to themselves in loving obedience to the Lord. You are worthy!

ReadDisciplemaking Principle: Model To Reproduce In movements, it's crucial to keep things simple so they can be reproduced by all disciples and churches. However, merely telling people isn't adequate. For example in the first several chapters of Luke, Jesus modeled proclaiming the kingdom, healing the sick, and casting out demons. Then in Luke 9 and 10, he sent his disciples out to do the same! Disciple makers must model with the goal of reproducing so that new disciples and churches can be fully trained and equipped and so this healthy DNA can be passed along to each spiritual generation.

But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity. For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will. They begged us again and again for the privilege of sharing in the gift for the believers in Jerusalem."

ReadDisciplemaking Principle: Sacrificially Help Those in Need Our Father in heaven is our great example of this movement principle; He is always extravagantly generous with everyone. In 2 Corinthians 9:6 we are reminded that "whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." When disciples serve as the hands and feet of Jesus in their communities they demonstrate the Father's unconditional love which many people have never felt before.

ReadJohn 15:1-8 "I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father."

ReadDisciplemaking Principle: Walk in Humility The humility of a disciple maker speaks volumes where the world generally values the opposite: attention, saving face, and pride. As Paul says about Jesus in Philippians 2: "...he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross!" As disciple makers are humble servants of those around them, they leave room for the Lord to move in power and receive all the glory.

Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever."

ReadDisciplemaking Principle: Die to Self Movement catalysts consistenly evaluate their disciple making practices to answer the question what is it going to take to reach this whole people group? They must be willing to die to themselves so that they may be available for however God wants to use them. As Jesus explained in John 12, "...unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds."

At first, the persecution is likely to come from the existing church Body unfortunately. Later, when the disciple-making groups start to multiply rapidly and thousands are coming to faith, it is diļ¬cult not to be noticed. That is when external persecution is likely.
