The Zaza-Dimli

Let's pray specifically for one of the unreached people groups living in Turkey today.

Acts 16:5

"So the churches were strengthened in their faith and grew larger every day."

The Zaza Dimli People

The Zaza Dimli are part of the larger Kurdish people and live in Diyarbakir as well as other provinces. They consider themselves to be Alevi Muslims. Because the Zaza do not observe the five fundamental requirements of Islam they are treated with contempt by Sunni Muslims. Of particular distaste to Sunni Muslims is their failure to observe cleansing rituals before prayer. The Zaza insist the condition of the heart and mind is more important than outward rituals. They have many hidden marriage problems and dysfunctional family relations.

Prayer Point:

Lord, thank you for revealing to the Zaza Dimli that the condition of our hearts and minds is more important than outward rituals. Open their eyes to see their need for Jesus to clean their hearts and minds. Pour your Spirit out on the Zaza Dimli, and draw them to yourself as families and communities. Break the cycles of dysfunctional family relationships and establish new patterns that glorify you. May your disciples among them be strengthened in their faith. Continue to grow them in loving obedience to you. Equip each person to share what you have done so all Zaza Dimli may hear about your goodness and have the opportunity to become your disciple.

Focus City: Diyarbakir

Understand the Urgency

February 4, 2025

Disciplemaking Principle: Understand the Urgency of the Task Jesus tells his disciples that we will not know the hour in which he will return, but that we should always be ready. Disciple Making Movements focus on the urgency of the task at hand - all peoples, nations, tribes and languages hearing the good news of Christ.

Rejoice and Sing!

February 3, 2025

Psalm 66:4-7 "Everything on earth will worship you;     they will sing your praises,     shouting your name in glorious songs. Come and see what our God has done,     what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea,     and his people went across on foot.     There we rejoiced in him. For by his great power he rules forever.     He watches every movement of the nations;     let no rebel rise in defiance."
