The former capital of the ancient Buddhist kingdom of Gandhara, Peshawar, is the capital city of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northern Pakistan. The nation is historically and culturally related to Iran, Afghanistan, and India. Since approximately 20% of Afghan refugees in Pakistan settled in the district of Peshawar, the city became a hub for Afghan musicians and artists, as well as a major center of Pashto literature.
Since 2021, there has been a sharp increase in attacks targeting Jesus followers across the country. The time is now for the Bride of Christ to stand with the church in Pakistan and pray for the advancement of the gospel in every unreached tribe in Peshawar. Key unreached people groups in Peshwar include but are not limited to the Pashtun Mandanri (Manezi), the Central Pathan (Pashtun), the Southern Pashtun, he Western Baloch, and the Western Punjabi.
