The Yazidi People
Let's pray specifically for one of the unreached people groups living in Turkey today.
Luke 19:5
"When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. 'Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.'”
The Yazidi People
The Yazidi are a Kurdish people who follow an old religion related to Zoroastrianism, but which has remnants of Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. They often live in refugee camps near the borders, and many of these refugees fled from Iraq because of violent persecution the last few decades. In 2023, many Yazidi were killed or displaced in the massive earthquakes that hit the region they live in.They are still suffering and traumatized.
Prayer Point:
Lord, we know that you are full of compassion for the Yazidi people. Come, Good Shepherd to these people who are like sheep without a shepherd. We ask you to call them by name like you did with Zacchaeus. Come to the refugee camps and invite them into fellowship with you. Give them courage to interact with non-Yazidi's so they may encounter your disciples and learn about you. Bring your supernatual healing and restoration to every Yazidi in Turkey. We ask that this will be their time to worship Jesus.
