Maturity in Christ
Ephesians 4:11-13
"Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ."
Disciple making movements may not look exactly like a traditional western church, but they develop and utilize all the gifts Christ gave to his Church. Those involved know it is important to equip the whole Church body to do God's work and become mature disciples.
Prayer Point:
Lord we pray for the smaller house churches in the movement in Gaziantep to be careful not to forget to equip the whole body in doing God's work using the gifts he gave us. We pray that you raise up more apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers in these churches. May they feel emboldened to practice their gift and teach others to do the same. We pray against anyone in the church feeling jealous of others or left out. Bring unity to your people in Gaziantep, that many more would see their good works and give you all the glory, Jesus. You alone are good and your unfailing love endure forever.
