Urdu speakers come from all walks of life, but they usually originate in either Pakistan or northern India. The Urdu possess a sense of group identity based on cultural and historical factors: the Islamic religion, a Persian cultural tradition, the Urdu language, and the tradition of Muslim supremacy in northern India. There are some Urdu believers in Turkey.
God, we ask you to pierce the Urdu speaking Jesus followers' hearts and quicken their feet to go out among the lost in their own communities. Multiple your Church, O God. Increase your favor among the Urdu in Turkey. Though this is a smaller community in Turkey we know they still have strong ties to their Muslim families in Pakistan and India – use this time while they are away from their homeland to have their eyes opened to the gospel. Jesus, send new Urdu believers back to their homelands with the gospel so that you may penetrate deep into the darkness of Islam in those countries too. May we see ALL the Urdu speakers from every nation present that the throne worshipping the Lamb of God!
