Siliguri is a city in the West Bengal state of northern India. Siliguri sits at the intersection of several roads leading to the neighboring countries of Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and China (Tibet). Siliguri is popular for three Ts: Tea, Timber and Tourism. It is a beautiful and lushish city located on the banks of the Mahananda and the Teesta River in the foothills of the Himalayas. Due to its proximity to international borders, the city has become a crowded refugee center. Because of the rise in refugees from surrounding nations they face high burglary and theft rates. Their social welfare system is so overrun they lack significant resources to care for all the people who need it. 

Prayer Point:

  • Pray for the advancement of God's Kingdom throughout the 57+ languages of this city.

  • Pray for creative ideas to meet the needs of the refugee communities in order to open homes to the gospel. 

  • Pray for the leaders that are launching community centers with a focus on planting churches by meeting the needs of women, children, and the poor in the city. Pray for them to have supernatural courage, strength, wisdom, and protection.

  • Pray for a resurrection of God's divine purpose for this city.
