Focus on the Gaps

Disciple Making Principle: Focus on the Gaps

One thing that every disciple needs to be equipped in is to have eyes to see where the kingdom isn’t. Now that sounds kind of strange. We’re naturally wired to look at what is.  But we need to develop eyes to see where the kingdom isn’t.

When we pray the Lord’s Prayer, we pray, “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. So when we pray that, we’re acknowledging that there’s a gap between what is and what is not yet. And as citizens of the kingdom, as subjects of the kingdom, our job is to be concerned with closing that gap. We need to be concerned for where the gospel is least accessible. God loves and is concerned for the last, the least, and the lost … that is having eyes to see where the kingdom isn’t.

Catalysts need to give each disciple a vision for reaching their friends and family, as well as extending the Kingdom to the ends of the earth. Disciples prioritize the darkest places with a “no place left” mentality, so that everyone can have access to the gospel. We need to equip every believer to have these kind of eyes looking for opportunities to enter new places, new people groups, to meet the greatest needs, so that God’s Will will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Prayer Point:

Ask the Lord to open doors for the gospel in Gaziantep, and open the spiritual eyes of each believer there to see the gaps where the Kingdom of God has not yet come. Pray for every church to play a part in filling gaps where there is not yet Church Planting Movement engagement. Lord, let the focus be on making every follower of Christ a reproducing disciple rather than merely a convert. Jesus, this means that every disciple should be equipped to make other disciples, who in turn will make more disciples. Let this be the reality in Gaziantep this year.

Focus City: Gaziantep

Understand the Urgency

February 4, 2025

Disciplemaking Principle: Understand the Urgency of the Task Jesus tells his disciples that we will not know the hour in which he will return, but that we should always be ready. Disciple Making Movements focus on the urgency of the task at hand - all peoples, nations, tribes and languages hearing the good news of Christ.

Rejoice and Sing!

February 3, 2025

Psalm 66:4-7 "Everything on earth will worship you;     they will sing your praises,     shouting your name in glorious songs. Come and see what our God has done,     what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea,     and his people went across on foot.     There we rejoiced in him. For by his great power he rules forever.     He watches every movement of the nations;     let no rebel rise in defiance."
