"One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue, he saw a woman who had been crippled by an evil spirit. She had been bent double for eighteen years and was unable to stand up straight. When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said, “Dear woman, you are healed of your sickness!” Then he touched her, and instantly she could stand straight. How she praised God!"
The Shikaki Kurdish are actually part of a much greater Kurd population. They have experienced great oppression and hate in Turkey. They follow Islam, hoping for social justice, but finding none. Mullahs (Muslim spiritual leaders) play an important role in the social and cultural life of those living in the country. Until recent times, mullahs would act as village witch doctors, performing ceremonies and reciting chants to drive out madness or cure the sick. However, We know only Jesus can truly heal and restore the sick and weary.
Answer the cries of the Shikaki Kurds of Southeast Turkey, O Lord. Do not let them continue to be oppressed, sitting in bitterness and hate, waiting for revenge. Jesus, just as you heal all kinds of sicknesses, please heal the Shikaki people of their hurt and pain. Let them release bitterness and turn to you, God. Let them embrace their Turkish neighbors as friends and family because you have healed their hearts and minds. Bring true transformation to your people. Open their eyes and ears to hear and recieve your gift of eternal life.

Disciplemaking Principle: Understand the Urgency of the Task Jesus tells his disciples that we will not know the hour in which he will return, but that we should always be ready. Disciple Making Movements focus on the urgency of the task at hand - all peoples, nations, tribes and languages hearing the good news of Christ.
ReadPsalm 66:4-7 "Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs. Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance."
