"Then Simon himself believed and was baptized. He began following Philip wherever he went, and he was amazed by the signs and great miracles Philip performed."
Romani speaking people originated in India where their ancestors worked as musicians, entertainers, and metal workers. They were discriminated against and excluded from Hindu temples. Later, they were sent to Persia. After traveling south they became known as Middle Eastern Romani. Many live a hard life as refugees or nomads, collecting recycleable goods or begging on the street to pay for food, though some are settled in houses. Romani marriages usually take place between couples in their teens. The quality of health care, nutrition, housing, and education tends to be poor in Romani communities. They are usually Muslim, and they follow the practices and beliefs of the Islamic faith, though there are a few Christians in Turkey.
Lord, send your disciple makers to the Romani people and give them ways to serve the needs of their communities for your glory. May many Romani, like Simon, believe in your great power when they witness miracles, and may they choose to surrender their lives to you through baptism. May Romani families discover your truth together in Discovery Bible Studies and share what they learn with everyone around them.

Disciplemaking Principle: Understand the Urgency of the Task Jesus tells his disciples that we will not know the hour in which he will return, but that we should always be ready. Disciple Making Movements focus on the urgency of the task at hand - all peoples, nations, tribes and languages hearing the good news of Christ.
ReadPsalm 66:4-7 "Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs. Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance."
