"Jesus also used this illustration: 'The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.'"
The Pontic Greeks in Turkey traditionally lived on the southern shores of the Black Sea. They suffered widespread massacres and what is now usually termed "ethnic cleansing" at the beginning of the 20th century. Many found refuge by hiding in the mountains, and others migrated to other countries. The surviving Pontic Greeks converted to Islam which allowed some of them to escape Muslim Turk persecution. There are currently no Christian resources (scripture, videos, etc.) in the Pontic Greek language.
Pray that Pontic Greek people would have a relentless curiosity about the Christian faith of their ancestors and spend time learning about it. Pray for the kingdom to spread to every Pontic Greek in Turkey like yeast multiplying through dough. Thank you, Lord, that your Kingdom's advance is unstoppable and uncontainable. Thank you that your Kingdom spreads everywhere, permeating every part including Pontic Greek families and to Antalya.
Use these resources to help pray specifically each day.
Disciplemaking Principle: Understand the Urgency of the Task Jesus tells his disciples that we will not know the hour in which he will return, but that we should always be ready. Disciple Making Movements focus on the urgency of the task at hand - all peoples, nations, tribes and languages hearing the good news of Christ.
ReadPsalm 66:4-7 "Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs. Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance."
