"Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle. Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies—he is the King of glory."
We pray against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world that are warring against the Turkish people in Ankara. I pray that you — the glorious King — will come in, the Lord strong and mighty; the Lord, the powerful warrior. Open up, you gates. Open wide, you aged doors, and the glorious King will come in. Who is this glorious King? The Lord All-Powerful — he is the glorious King.

And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins." The Tartar People The Tartar people in Turkey have their ancestry in Mongolia. Many live a transient lifestyle. Some believe in supernatural powers such as the "evil eye", involving the ability to curse someone with an intense look. Unlike most Muslims some of the Tatar eat pork, and very few observe the prescribed Islamic fasts. They remain more liberal than most orthodox Muslims of Central Asia, even inviting women to pray in the mosques instead of at home. Unfortunately, the Tatars' view of Christianity has been scarred by negative interactions with the Russian Orthodox Church and its earlier attempts to convert them through force. This has served to push them to be more dedicated to Islam and wary of any form of Christianity. Pray for barriers to be broken down. Pray for Muslim background disciple makers to be sent from other movements to the Tartars in Turkey.
ReadDisciple Making Principle: Movements Start New Movements In the past 30 years of practicing DMM, research shows that over 80% of movements are started by other movements. Part of the reason behind this is momentum. A movement is defined by most as: a rapid and exponential growth in making disciples. Among the DMM community we say you have reached movement status when there are at least 4 generations of churches among at least 4 different streams, including around 1000+ people. That is momentum! Once you've reached this level of healthy disciples who are reproducing themselves you also begin to see these churches gain a heart for other people groups, cities, and nations. They begin to desire to reach beyond their boarders and see others come into the Kingdom too. This is why it is important to continue to coach and mentor current movements. They are highly effective in starting new movements in neighboring regions. Pray for movement leaders to work well with other movement leaders as they lead their movements in finding the best strategies for starting new movements.

Many have not found this in Turkey yet continue to walk around without hope. Tajiks in Turkey are a proud, diverse, surviving people, but are also recognized to be gracious and hospitable. They are hard workers and very family oriented. Like most peoples of Central Asia, the Tajiks can be either urban or rural. Tajiks are virtually all Muslim, with most being Sunni Muslims of the conservative Hanafite branch. ReadDisciple Making Principle: Model, Assist, Watch, and Launch What is M.A.W.L.? It has to do with the disciple making process. Jesus used this process with His disciples. He modeled how to do the work of the Kingdom. They went with Him, watched Him and learned. He then invited them to assist Him in the work. They joined Him in feeding the five thousand, and in healing the sick, casting out demons, etc. He then sent them out to do the same. Then He checked in with them (watch) to see how they were doing. Jesus left and returned to Heaven, giving them a command and commission to carry on the work. Most DMM Catalysts are good at modeling and good at leaving. We don’t do so well on the assist and watch parts of M.A.W.L. Modeling is fun and exciting. If you are a natural pioneer, you also like to leave, moving on to new places and visions. The assist and watch parts of M.A.W.L. are vitally important. They are essential aspects of the disciple making process.

ReadDisciple Making Principle: Anticipate Rapid Reproduction One of the most striking characteristics of Church Planting Movements is the speed at which they grow and multiply. This is due in part to the focus on rapid reproduction, but also to the fact that these movements often occur in areas with high population density and a high degree of social connectivity. Rapid reproduction is facilitated by the use of simple, reproducible models of church planting and disciple making, as well as a reliance on lay leadership and small, informal gatherings of believers. This allows for new churches to be started quickly and easily, without the need for extensive resources or external support. Healthy churches are characterized by a vibrant worship life, a commitment to sharing the Gospel with others, a willingness to serve their communities, a focus on discipleship and education, and a deep sense of community and fellowship among members.

As disciple makers are humble servants of those around them, they leave room for the Lord to move in power and receive all the glory.
ReadJeremiah 10:6, 7 "Lord, there is no one like you! For you are great, and your name is full of power. Who would not fear you, O King of nations? That title belongs to you alone! Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like you."
ReadPsalm 23: 1-6 "The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever."

ReadDisciplemaking Principle: Overcome Persecution and Suffering Disciples who are trying to multiply disciples to start movements can expect persecution, spiritual warfare, and suffering. At first, the persecution is likely to come from the existing church Body unfortunately. Later, when the disciple-making groups start to multiply rapidly and thousands are coming to faith, it is difficult not to be noticed. That is when external persecution is likely. Disciples may be targeted by authorities, called in for questioning, deported, or worse.

ReadDisciplemaking Principle: Develop Indigenous Praise and Worship Encouraging local followers to create their own forms of praise and worship is a really important element of how disciples in movements do church together, so that church looks as familiar and normal as it can in that cultural setting. The church works thoughtfully and prayerfully to indigenize praising Jesus into the forms that make sense today so that the church forms don’t look like Western churches and therefore erode people’s identity in their ethnicity or their nationality. They can fully be Christians within their national context.

ReadDisciplemaking Principle: Be Led By The Holy Spirit When the Spirit moves in a people group or city amazing things can happen. Movements today testify that many discovery bible studies begin because of an encounter with God. Many disciplemakers are led to lost people who need a miracle and this encounter with God kickstarts a discovery study group. Movement leaders tell of the Spirit leading them to new people and place, speaking for them when the enemy attacks, and giving them wisdom and knowledge previously unknown. The Spirit opens the doors for obedient disciplemakers to walk through. Pray for each disciple of Christ to remain close to Jesus and be led by the Spirit each and every day.

ReadDisciplemaking Principle: Multiply New Disciples and Churches Movements around the world measure their effectiveness by measuring how many healthy new disciples are making more healthy new disciples, and how many healthy churches are reproducing new healthy churches. Multiplication is instilled as DNA from the very first discovery bible study. Members are asked to obey the word and share the story they just learned with someone who needs to hear it. They are then taught that when they find an interested seeker they should encourage them to start their own discovery group. In this way discovery groups, and eventually churches, are multiplied quickly and effectively.

ReadDisciplemaking Principle: Go Slow to Go Fast In disciple making we want to focus on the foundations first; building character qualities and healthy DNA that will result in great depth and fruit. Movements often say "Focus on a few to win many." Jesus focused on the 12 disciples and mentored them for 3 years, and from them the church grew quickly. It takes time to develop healthy disciples worth multiplying, but when they do multiply they will produce healthy generational churches that are self sustaining and reproducing. Go slow now, in order to see the gospel spread faster and farther later.
