During the month of July let's pray together for the strategic city of Ankara, the Capital of Turkey. We encourage you to find out more about Ankara and the unique history, culture and people of this historical city. All month long we ask that you direct your prayers here.

Turkey is a land of great Biblical significance, as approximately 60% of the places mentioned in the Bible are in this nation. Despite Turkey's history in the Way of God, the nation has more mosques than any other country, and the Turks remain one of the largest frontier people groups.

As Turkey is a bridge between Europe and the Middle East, Western progressivism has also strongly influenced the nation. These factors make Turkey a prominent harvest field. Let it be said once again that "all who lived in Asia (Turkey) heard the word of the Lord" (Acts 19:10). Ankara is the nation's capital. Situated east of Istanbul in central Turkey, Ankara is an important crossroads for enterprise and trade. 

During the last two years, the economy in Turkey has gone way down, with the US Dollar equalling 32.5 Turkish Lira (as of June 2024). There has been a steady rise in prices of all products and services across the country, and rent has more than doubled or even trippled in some areas. The Turkish people are struggling to stay afloat financially and many are going into debt. Ask for wisdom for the governing body of Turkey right now.

Prayer Point:

Lord God, cause the people of Ankara to come and talk with you. Though their sins are like scarlet, may they become as white as snow. Lord, let it be true once again in the city of Ankara, that within "the next two years, the people throughout the province of Asia—both Jews and Greeks—heard the word of the Lord." We pray for the Crimean Tartar people, the Southern Uzbek people, and of course the Turks living in Ankara, that they will experience you in a new way, through sign and wonders. We pled with you, God, to start discovery bible studies all over the city this month, that we would reap a great harvest this year. Lord, we pray blessings and wisdom over the government in Ankara; over President Erdogan and his chief advisors. Lord bless this country's economy in a way that it would turn around and the suffering of the people would end.
