Let's broaden our global perspective and pray for the city of Ahvaz, Iran.

Ahvaz is the capital city of the Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran. Due to its dominant oil sector, it is one of the most polluted cities on the planet.

Following a botched 2015 nuclear deal with the U.S., firm sanctions on Iran have weakened their economy and further tainted the public opinion of the only Islamic Theocracy in the world.

As the access to basic necessities and governmental planning worsens, the people of Iran are further disillusioned with the Islamic utopia the government promised. These are just a few of the many factors that are contributing to Iran hosting the fastest-growing church in the world.

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for the advancement of God's Kingdom throughout the 6 languages of this city, particularly among the Iraqi Arabs, Lakis, and Bakhtiaris.
  • Pray the leaders of the Gospel SURGE as they risk their lives to share the good news of Jesus and plant churches; pray for them to have supernatural protection, wisdom, and courage and for their faith to be strengthened.
  • Pray for a mighty movement of prayer to be birthed in Ahvaz that multiplies throughout the country.
  • Pray for followers of Jesus to walk in the power of the Spirit.
  • Pray for a resurrection of God's divine purpose for this city.
