Turkish Jews

Let's pray specifically for one of the unreached people groups living in Turkey today.

Matthew 15:8

"These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me."

The Turkish Jews

The history of the Jews in Turkey covers about 2400 years. The Turkish Jews form one of the main non-Muslim communities in Turkey. According to the World Jewish Congress, 95% of the Jews in Turkey live in Istanbul (Constantinople), around 2,500 live in Izmir (Smyrna) and smaller groups live in Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Canakkale, Iskenderun and Kırklareli. Anti-Semitism is quite common in Turkey. Antisemitism is generally seen in books, newspapers, and magazines, and most of them are usually from the Islamic side. Some of the Jews in Turkey hide their names in their daily lives. Neve Shalom Synagogue in Istanbul has been attacked at least four times.

Prayer Point:

Lord, we pray that You would work among all the Jews in Istanbul and other cities across Turkey. Lift the veil from their eyes so that they can understand who Jesus is and decide to follow him as Lord. Protect them from all who would seek to harm them.

Focus City: Istanbul

Understand the Urgency

February 4, 2025

Disciplemaking Principle: Understand the Urgency of the Task Jesus tells his disciples that we will not know the hour in which he will return, but that we should always be ready. Disciple Making Movements focus on the urgency of the task at hand - all peoples, nations, tribes and languages hearing the good news of Christ.

Rejoice and Sing!

February 3, 2025

Psalm 66:4-7 "Everything on earth will worship you;     they will sing your praises,     shouting your name in glorious songs. Come and see what our God has done,     what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea,     and his people went across on foot.     There we rejoiced in him. For by his great power he rules forever.     He watches every movement of the nations;     let no rebel rise in defiance."
