Effective disciple makers in many areas of the world are NOT paid church employees, NOR are they paid sent out ones. In actuality, most movements encourage all believers to both work to earn money for their families AND go make disciples who make disciples who make more disciples.
"Paul lived and worked with them, for they were tentmakers just as he was. Each Sabbath found Paul at the synagogue, trying to convince the Jews and Greeks alike."
Dependance on outside funds is not a sustainable, reproducable model for disciple making. Local business models are necessary for successful access through bi-vocational ministry. Businesses that will both provide for a disciple maker and his family, while also not detracting from the task of going out and making more diciples, are what we are seeking out here in Turkey. These restore dignity and restore economic stability for the ministry. Many followers of Jesus here are struggling with how to balance their real need of money and their hearts desire to serve God. Pray for creative ideas for new access into communities that will meet every need of the disciple maker.
Today we pray for the Turkish believers in Istanbul to truly catch the vision of reaching their nation for Christ. We ask you, Lord, to allow them to find jobs that meet a need in their community and give them access to the lost. Lord, we pray that their jobs pay enough money to sustain their families, especially in this economic crisis we are facing. Give Turkish disciple makers in Istanbul creative ideas to start new businesses with better access to the community, that would be sustainable and reproducable. Bless these co-laborers for the Gospel with abundant fruit, many new generations of discovery bible studies and churches. Let us celebrate together as a movement begins in Istanbul among every nation, tribe and tongue represented in this city.

Disciplemaking Principle: Understand the Urgency of the Task Jesus tells his disciples that we will not know the hour in which he will return, but that we should always be ready. Disciple Making Movements focus on the urgency of the task at hand - all peoples, nations, tribes and languages hearing the good news of Christ.
ReadPsalm 66:4-7 "Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs. Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance."
