"They were completely amazed and said again and again, 'Everything he does is wonderful. He even makes the deaf to hear and gives speech to those who cannot speak.'"
Hearing impaired people in Turkey are often sheltered by their families. Many do not have jobs; they are taken care of by their parents or other relatives for most of their lives. Turkish Sign Language is a visual one. There has been little or no use of Sign Language in Deaf schools in Turkey, therefore creating variations in the use of it in different parts of the country. In spite of this, it is possible for these Deaf people and their families to understand each other. There are few, if any, Christian resources available in Turkish Sign Language. Pray that Turkish believers will find ways of leading the Turkish Deaf to Jesus Christ.
Jesus, you are the God of all languages, both spoken and visual. You love the deaf people in Turkey and have not forgotten them. Lord, we pray for Turkish believers who know Turkish Sign Language to boldly and clearly share your message of hope, healing, and love with the deaf community here. We pray for a first generation discovery group to begin among Deaf Turkish seekers and their families. We ask that the whole family unit begin learning about you Jesus, and together they would come to faith. We pray that the Deaf community in Turkey would lead the way for the Deaf community around the world to know Jesus and make him known!
Use these resources to help pray specifically each day.
Disciplemaking Principle: Understand the Urgency of the Task Jesus tells his disciples that we will not know the hour in which he will return, but that we should always be ready. Disciple Making Movements focus on the urgency of the task at hand - all peoples, nations, tribes and languages hearing the good news of Christ.
ReadPsalm 66:4-7 "Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs. Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him. For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance."
