Today many Christians celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus from the grave. Muslims in Karachi may be aware of Easter either in the news or if they have interactions with Christians who may take Monday off as part of their celebration of Easter.
Pray today for the people of Karachi to be interested in what Easter is to Christians and to understand what truly happened. Pray that they'd step around the untrue stories they've heard about Christians and Easter and seek the truth and truly understand why Jesus' life, death, and resurrection are so important.
“For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among Karachi, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among Karachi, says the Lord of hosts” (Malachi 1:11). Lord, may this passage come to pass in our lifetime. May your name be great among Karachi, and may your name be worshiped and adored from the rising of the sun to its setting.
Lord God Almighty, wherever incense is burned, wherever prayers are offered or beads are counted or rugs are laid out: in every mosque, in every church, in every gathering space for prayer – Lord, there, would your name be lifted high. Let Karachi offer you a pure offering of adoration and praise. Amen
